ZEV cooling | electric cooling system
There's a storm coming.
The age of the zero-emission machine is here. But even battery- and fuel-cell-powered vehicles need thermal management.
Which is why we're applying Horton's 70 years of airflow expertise to the new wave of transportation, construction, agriculture, mining and other industries.
Your fearless innovation will change the world. We're here to assist. Let's talk about how we can work together to create a more sustainable society.
Things to know
- Batteries, fuel cells, motors and auxiliary electrical components all require aggressive heat rejection, generally at high voltage
- Most "off-the-shelf" electric fans only go up to 24 volts; Horton is dedicated to partnering on high-voltage (400-800 V) solutions
- The fan on a BEV or FCEV will likely be the vehicle's largest source of noise, but optimized internal temperature control and fan design can minimize it
The path to partnership
1. Determine necessary airflow requirements and available voltage
2. Explore potential solutions with Horton's thermal management experts
3. Extensive testing, tweaking and validation to reach customized, scalable solution
