Horton, Inc. announces a new quick-ship program for select aftermarket clockwise WindMaster® Plastic Fans. Orders for up to two qualifying fans, processed by 2:00 pm Central Daylight Time or 3:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time, are shipped on the same day for fans in stock. Fans not in stock will ship in one to two business days. The quick-ship program applies to urgent-service aftermarket orders. WindMaster Fans offered through the program including HS11, HS9, MS9 and MS8 models. Horton, Inc. has been awarded one of the Heavy Duty Trucking Top 20 Product Awards for its Arctis Two-Speed Fan Drive. Awards were presented at the Mid-America Trucking Show, and winning products were featured in the March issue of Heavy Duty Trucking. Heavy Duty Trucking’s editors selected 50 nominees from among the new product announcements published by Heavy Duty Trucking in print and online. Darry Stuart, president of DWS Fleet Services, along with two TMC fleet manager judges, further refined the list of nominees. Horton, Inc. has appointed Geert Henk Touw as interim president and chief executive officer. Touw has served on Horton’s board of directors for more than two years. Touw brings to this position more than four decades of international industry experience. He was senior vice president, Asia Pacific, and managing director, vice president and general manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Donaldson Company, Inc. Touw spent 21 years at Bloomington, Minn.-based Donaldson Company, a leading worldwide provider of filtration systems and replacement parts, including on-road and off-road filtration technology for engines. Horton announces receipt of notice of intent to issue reexamination certificate in U.S. Patent No. 5,636,719 Horton, Inc. has received a Notice of Intent to Issue Ex Parte Reexamination Certificate in U.S. Patent No. 5,636,719, in response to a request for reexamination of this patent by counsel for Kit Masters Inc. and Concepts NREC. The Notice indicates that a Reexamination Certificate will be issued that confirms the patentability of all of the reexamined claims of the patent, and also of the additional claims that were added during the reexamination proceeding. Horton announces settlement of litigation against Concepts NREC Horton, Inc. has reached an agreement to settle its pending litigation against Concepts NREC, which involved claims of infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 5,611,415, 5,636,719 and 6,838,796 for Concepts’ sales of two-speed clutches and add-on kits that incorporate an eddy current drive used in conjunction with a pneumatic on/off fan clutch. Concepts has agreed to discontinue its sales of these products. Complete terms of the settlement agreement are confidential. Horton initiated patent infringement litigation against Kit Masters Inc. and Concepts NREC in 2008, seeking damages and injunctions against both companies. The litigation remains ongoing against Kit Masters.
