Horton, Inc. has introduced a fan drive conversion kit that saves fuel and reduces noise. The new PolarForce Two-Speed Conversion Kit converts a DM Advantage™ or DriveMaster On/Off Fan Drive to two-speed technology for superior operating efficiency and performance. Two-speed technology is ideal for cooling refuse trucks, rear-engine cement mixers, school and city buses, fire trucks, severe-service vehicles and other on- and off-highway equipment with little to no air ram. The two-speed conversion kit features advanced components and the latest magnet design for efficient and reliable operation. The kit has been extensively performance tested and is backed by an extended warranty.
Horton, Inc. has introduced the new DM Advantage Fan Drives to meet the current and future industry demands for reliable engine cooling, fuel savings and noise reduction. Offered in on/off and two-speed technologies, DM Advantage is engineered for the highest-heat under-hood applications. The new DM Advantage Fan Drives are comprised of premium bearings, a superior air cartridge and a long-wearing friction liner. The improvements in cooling ability yield better engine performance and longer operating life.
Horton, Inc. has introduced VMaster and Stratis Di Viscous Fan Drive and Controller systems—an economical choice for customers who seek the flexibility of variable speed along with optimal engine cooling, reduced fuel consumption, decreased noise and more available horsepower for auxiliary components. J1939 compatible, the Controller combines with Horton’s VMaster or Stratis Viscous Fan Drive to complete the plug-and-play Di systems.
Horton, Inc. has added a state-of-the-art cooling system simulator to the testing equipment at its Carmel, Ind., facility. The simulator enables Horton to imitate real-world heat-producing conditions that engines encounter while precisely measuring the cooling capacity of fan designs. The expanded capabilities will allow Horton to test not only the performance of its fan drives and fans, but also of radiators and charge air intercoolers used on virtually all sizes of on- and off-highway vehicles and equipment.
